I thought I’d do something a little different for my next few blog posts since I did say this would be a place that I share not only recipes but my life experiences as well. So I decided to take you along on our escape away with us!

Brad and I decided last year to try to take a trip away together each year (read: no kids!) and this is only our second trip of this kind since Chloe was born (she will be 11 this year). We figure since it will just be us once the kid is grown and gone we better make sure we still like each other when that time comes! 😂 We did our first trip to Vegas last year and had a blast, so we decided we’d do a Carribean cruise this year.

This is our second cruise. We did a Disney 3 night Bahamas a few years ago (as a family) to test whether we’d actually like cruising and this began our love for cruising! It’s such an amazing way to see the world. You don’t have to pack and unpack and move around. You get to sleep in the same place every night but you get to visit many destinations. Plus there’s always entertainment and food on demand! We are now obsessed with cruising and can’t wait to take many more. This trip we are sailing on Royal Carribean’s Oasis of the Seas sailing out of Port Canaveral. Orlando is kind of like our second home. We visit at least once a year and we are known by our family and friends as being a *little* Disney obsessed (okay, a lot)! But this will be our first trip to Orlando that we are not actually going to Disney. It is taking a lot of restraint! We will likely still visit Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney). We are flying in to Orlando 2 days before our cruise and staying one additional night post cruise so we have a little time to enjoy Orlando as well as the Carribean destinations (Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaicia; Cozumel, Mexico).

When we travel, I like to share photos of our adventures along the way with our friends and family back home. Some have started commenting that we sure do share an awful lot of food pictures. haha Oh well, isn’t that what vacations are for…splurging?!? So I thought my blog would be the perfect place to share the many yummy treats we indulge in (or see) along the way. I would assume any

one following this blog is a fellow foodie and would appreciate the art that is food!

I also encourage you to let me know if you see a sweet treat that looks so good that you’d like me to try to replicate it for those of you back home to try. It may also be fun if I plan a “Disney inspired” treat weekend at the bakery after I get back so you can experience a little of what the Disney magic is like in treat form! Let me know if you are interested in either of these ideas and I’ll try to make it happen.

We leave for our trip early Friday morning so stay tuned as you travel with us to Florida, Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico. Prepare to be very hungry with food envy… 😉😎
